How to find or claim your Google Business Profile
This guide will help you track down access or claim ownership of your Google Business Profile
If your business already appears on Google but you are not sure who manages the profile, you may need to check your Google accounts or request access from the current owner.
This guide will help you work out whether you already have access, or whether you need to claim the profile through Google.
Step 1: Check Whether You Already Manage the Profile
You or someone on your team may already have access to the Google Business Profile.
- Check the list of businesses connected to your current Google account.
-
If your business is not listed, try signing in with any other Google accounts you or your team use.

Tip: It is common for a profile to be connected to an office@ email address, an admin email address, or the business owner’s personal Gmail account.
Step 2: Request Access to the Profile
If you cannot find the profile in any of your Google accounts, you can request access from Google.
-
Search for your business using the exact name shown on Google.

-
What happens next depends on the status of the profile.
If You See "Manage Now"
Click Manage now and follow Google’s prompts.
Google may ask you to verify that you are authorised to manage the business. This could be done by phone, email, video, or another verification method.
If You See "Request Access"
Click Request access and complete Google’s form.
Google will send your request to the current profile owner. The current owner has 3 days to respond.
If they approve your request, you will get access to the profile. If they do not respond, Google may give you the option to verify the business and claim access yourself.
If Your Business Does Not Appear in the Dropdown
First, check that you are searching for the business name exactly as it appears on Google. If your business still does not appear, try searching for:
- your business name and suburb
- your business phone number
- your website
- the business name shown on Google Maps
Some service-area businesses can be harder to find because they do not show a public street address.
If you still cannot find the correct profile, contact Betterbunch support before creating a new Google Business Profile. Creating a duplicate profile can make the process more confusing and may need to be fixed by Google later.
Need A Hand?
Google Business Profiles can be tricky, especially if an old staff member, agency, or unknown email address owns the profile.
