How to send invitations to a list of contacts

Learn how to invite a group of customers by uploading a CSV or Excel spreadsheet to betterbunch.

If you have a list of customers you’ve recently worked with, you can invite them all to share feedback in one go.

Upload your spreadsheet, check the customer details, then send or schedule the invitations.

Get your customer list ready

You can build a list in Excel or Google Sheets, or export one from your job management or invoicing software. Your list should contain an email address and/or mobile number for each customer you want to invite. A first name is optional, but using one makes the invitation feel more personal.

Save the list as a CSV or Excel file. Your file can include other columns, such as addresses or job details. You’ll choose which columns betterbunch should use after uploading it.

If you need help exporting a list, ask your software provider:

I’d like to export a list of the customers we’ve serviced recently, with their first name, email address and mobile number. Can you help me download it as a CSV or Excel file?

If your Excel file has several sheets, put the customer list on the first sheet, as betterbunch uses data from sheet one only.

Upload and review your customers

  1. Log in to betterbunch.
  2. Click Create invite in the left menu.
  3. Open the Bulk upload tab and upload your CSV or Excel file.
  4. The Review your customers table will open. Use the dropdown above each column to tell betterbunch which one contains the customer’s First name, Email and Mobile number. betterbunch can use one column for each of these details, so choose the column with the information you want to use. Set columns you don’t need to Ignore.
  5. Check the rows before you continue.
    1. Click a cell to add or correct a detail. For example, you can change a full name to a first name, or move a mobile number from a home phone column into the column you’ve mapped as Mobile number.
    2. Use the rubbish bin beside a row to remove anyone you don’t want to invite.
    3. To make a wide list easier to check, use the eye icon to hide columns you don’t need to see; the Columns menu at the top right lets you show them again. Scroll across or down to view the table, and use the arrows at the bottom to move between pages.

  6. Check the number on Continue with X customers, then click it to return to your invitation.

Note: Only rows with an email address or mobile number can be used to create invitations. A first name is not required. Hiding a column only changes what you see in the table; select Ignore if you don’t want betterbunch to use its data.

Choose your message and send

Click Edit message if you’d like to change the invitation wording or choose a different template.

Check the message preview, then click Send invite to send now. Or, to send the invitations later, open the arrow beside Send invite and choose a scheduled time.
