      Connect your Google Business profile

      In this article, you'll learn how to connect your Google Business profile to your betterbunch account

      If you didn't know already, "Google Business Profile is an easy-to-use tool for businesses and organizations to manage their online presence across Google"  - their words, not ours. Learn more about the Google Business profile tool (GBP for short, formally known as Google My Business) here. 

      At betterbunch, we offer two ways to connect your GBP. 

      Our favourite way to connect GBP and betterbunch is via an application programming interface or API. This connection will ensure your invites include a link to the correct GBP page as well as provide valuable insight and information about your reviews and feedback trends via the dashboard and reviews tab. 

      The second way to connect your GBP to betterbunch is via a one-way sync which will ensure your invitations include the link to your correct GBP. However, a one-way sync won't display your reviews and trends in the dashboard or reviews tab so we always recommend connecting via API wherever possible.

      Check you have the correct Google Business profile connected

      Check out the steps below to connect your GBP to betterbunch via API. This is the best way to connect your GBP because it will prompt your customers to leave reviews on your correct GBP as well as connect your betterbunch dashboard and reviews page.

      1. Login to your betterbunch account

      2. Head to the Reviews page on the left menu bar

      3. Select Connect an account
      4. Click on the Google logo before hitting Next 
      5. Sign into your Google Business profile using your login details. 
        If you don't know your login details, check out this link or your can connect your GBP via a one-way sync using these instructions and then connect your API another time 
      6. Google will ask if you're happy to give access to betterbunch. Tap Allow 
      7. If you are the owner or manager of multiple GBP, you'll be asked to select the site you'd like to connect from the dropdown before you Continue
      8. Success 🥳 It may take a minute to load but very soon, you'll see your reviews and data pulled through to your dashboard
      9. Hot tip: We always recommend sending yourself a test invitation to check you're happy with the change before you send your next invitation

      If you'd prefer to connect your GBP to betterbunch via a one-way sync, your invitations will contain a link to your correct GBP page but you won't be able to track and manage reviews and trends from your betterbunch login. Where possible, we recommend connecting your GBP using the API method. Follow the steps below to connect your one-way sync.

      1. Login to your betterbunch account

      2. Head to the Reviews page on the left menu bar

      3. Select Connect an account
      4. Click on the Google logo before hitting Next 
      5. Rather than signing into your Google Business profile using your login details, follow the prompt as though you can't remember your login details by tapping Click here
      6. Type your GBP name in the textbox. Remember it needs to match the exact spelling on your Google Business Profile
      7. Select your GBP from the dropdown
      8. Tap Continue and you're all done!
      9. We recommend double checking you have linked the correct account before sending out your first invitations 
      10. Hot tip: We always recommend sending yourself a test invitation to check you're happy with the change before you send your next invitation

      If you want to triple check you have the correct GBP connected to your invitations, follow the steps below. 

      1. Login to your betterbunch account

      2. Head to the Settings page on the bottom left of your dashboard

      3. From there, navigate to the Review sites tab which will display your review settings

      4. Select View page below the Google logo and you'll be taken to the GBP that is connected to your betterbunch invitations 
      5. Easy peasy lemon squeezy
