Introducing Shareable Links (Beta)

We're excited to introduce Shareable Links—Dynamic links that can be shared anywhere, helping gather more reviews than ever before. As this is a beta launch, we're eager for your feedback to help refine the feature before its full release.

Feature Overview

This feature allows you to create and measure Dynamic links, known as Shareable Links.

Think—a button on your website, a prompt in your email signatures or a link in your monthly e-newsletter, all asking for feedback and reviews from different areas of your business.

The benefit of a betterbunch Shareable link is that, just like with traditional betterbunch invitations, satisfied customers will be encouraged to leave a review, while unhappy customers will be prompted to share private feedback, helping to boost your online reviews while safeguarding your online reputation at the same time.

When users click the Shareable Link, they are directed to your Happy V Unhappy page, where they can share their sentiments.

Here's an example of our betterbunch Shareable Link in action. This is what your customers would experience when they interact with your Shareable Link.

Tip: To encourage interaction with your Shareable Invitation, consider turning it into a Retter Rewards Invitation. When a contact clicks your Shareable Link, they will be entered into the draw to win a $500 voucher.

Each time the link is clicked, it's recorded as a unique invitation in your Invitation Logs. This allows you to monitor the click count and the feedback received through the link.

For instance, you could add a Shareable Link to Tony's email signature and another to Jill's, prompting customer feedback. Shareable Links allows you to track the click count and sentiment for each email signature and identify which link resulted in the highest Google reviews or negative feedback.

As this is a beta release, we’re eager to hear your feedback to help us refine Shareable Links before the full launch.

Tip: In addition to using Shareable Links in your online material, consider incorporating Shareable QR codes into your printed collateral as well. Shareable QR codes allow you to create posters, flyers or business cards that invite customers to provide feedback and share their reviews.

Step-by-step Guide to creating Shareable Links

If you are interested in accessing this feature during its beta phase, please express your interest here.  Once enrolled in the beta program, complete the steps below to create your Shareable Links.

  1. Login to your betterbunch account.
  2. Navigate to Shareables in the left menu.
  3. Click on Add new link and give the link a unique name to help quickly identify its location. We recommend using a descriptive name like 'Website feedback page' or 'Office email signature'.
  4. If you intend to text your new Shareable Link from a 3rd party messaging software (such as SAM automotive software or Exact dental software), click the toggle switch to shorten the Shareable Link URL.
  5. If you want your Shareable Link to offer the contact the chance to enter the draw to win $500, turn the Incentive Toggle ON. Learn more about our Better Rewards program here.
  6. To copy the link, hover over the Shareable Link tile and Click to copy. Feel free to return to this page whenever you need to copy the link again.
  7. Add the Shareable Link to your online material for customers to engage with. View real-life examples of Shareable Links to spark inspiration and ideas.

Tracking and measuring the results of your Shareable Links

  1. Login to your betterbunch account.
  2. Navigate to Shareables in the left menu.
  3. Click on the three dots located on the right side of the Shareable Link tile you wish to analyse, and then choose the Analytics option from the menu.
  4. Review the data in the pop-up.
    • The first bar, labelled 'Clicked Link', shows the cumulative number of times visitors have interacted with the Shareable Link.
    • The second bar illustrates the total number of visitors who said they were happy on the left side in comparison with the number of visitors who reported they were unhappy on the right side.
    • The third bar displays the number of happy visitors who proceeded to your chosen review site on the left side, in comparison with the number of unhappy visitors who provided negative feedback on the right side.

Note: To review and compare multiple Shareable Links at one time, simply click on the pie chart icon located in the top right corner of the Shareable Link tiles you wish to analyze. This action will display a summary of the results for your selected tiles.

Example of Shareable Links in Action

Inserting a hyperlinked sentence asking for feedback

A hyperlink (or simply a "link") is a clickable element on a web page that directs you to another resource. Hyperlinks are a fundamental part of the web, enabling easy navigation between interconnected resources.

Turn your Shareable link into a hyperlinked phrase such as 'Let us know how we did here'.

Here's an example of our betterbunch Shareable Link in a hyperlinked phrase.

Paste the hyperlink phrase in your email signatures, on your website, in your invoice reminders, or anywhere else online that your customers may interact with you.

The location and appearance of the hyperlink tool may vary depending on the platform you're working from. In most programmes, the tool for hyperlinking text will look like a chain link 🔗.

Sending betterbunch invitations from another CRM

If your business uses a job management platform or customer relationship management software that can send SMS or email communications (such as SAM automotive software or Exact dental software), create a shortened Shareable Link and follow the instructions provided by your chosen software to set up automated messaging to distribute your new Shareable Link to your customers.

When creating your Shareable link, click the Shorten link toggle in step number 4 to shorten the URL so that it is suitable for sending via a third-party SMS messaging program.

Once set up, you can monitor your link's performance and gain deeper insight into customer sentiment.

Tip: If you are already sending a betterbunch link (previously known as a Custom URL) from your job management software, we suggest changing the link to a new Shareable Link, as the new link provides better tracking.

Tip: Similar to using Shareable Links to your online reach, consider adding Shareable QR codes in hard-copy collateral, too. Shareable QR codes allow you to create posters, cards, table stands and other printed materials inviting customers to provide feedback and share their reviews.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Beta?

A: The term "Beta" is commonly used in the technology world to describe a testing phase in the product development process. During this stage, a new feature is introduced to a select group of users to uncover potential issues or challenges that may not have been detected in earlier testing phases.

We ask Beta testers to engage with the product in real-world scenarios and provide valuable feedback that enables our developers to make necessary refinements before rolling out the feature to all betterbunch subscribers.

Q: What happens if a customer clicks on the link multiple times?

A: If a user clicks on your Shareable Link multiple times, betterbunch will recognise them as returning visitors and only display one invitation in your Invitation Log. After 7 days, if the user clicks on the link again, they will be recognised as a new customer, and a new invitation will be generated in your invitation logs.

Q: If a contact leaves negative feedback via a Shareable Link, can I see their details?

A: If a customer indicates they are unhappy with your service, they will be prompted to provide feedback. After submitting their comments, they will be directed to a page where they can optionally enter their name, email address, and phone number.

When feedback is shared, an email will be sent to your notification email address. You can access and review their comments in your feedback menu. If the customer chooses to provide their contact information, it will also be visible on this page.

Q: I want to incentivise my customers to share their feedback. Can I turn my existing Shareable Link into a Better Rewards Shareable Link?

A: No. If you have an existing Shareable Link that is not a Better Rewards Link, you can not change the link to allow customers into the draw. Alternatively, you will need to create a new Shareable Link and ensure the Incentive Toggle is turned ON

Known Issues and Limitations

Shareable Links are in beta testing, so we are still making minor changes to optimise and improve the feature before its official release.  Please let us know if you encounter any problems or have suggestions that are not listed below.

  • [Resolved 03/010/2024] Currently, Shareable links use 70+ characters, which may not be ideal for SMS messages with third-party SMS providers. We are working on shortening the Shareable link to make it more suitable for SMS messaging with other providers.
  • [Resolved 09/09/2024] Companies can filter their data on the analytics page by SMS invitations, email invitations, and Shareable Links. However, please note that if you have multiple Shareable Links, you cannot filter by individual links. We recommend utilising the Export feature and creating custom reports in Excel for a more detailed analysis of each link's performance.
  • [Resolved 10/11/2024] The option to Incentivise your customers to leave feedback has been introduced as part of our Better Rewards programme. This is now available via a toggle switch when creating and editing your Shareable invitations.
