We're excited to introduce Better Rewards—SMS and email invitations that offer your customers the chance to win $500 in exchange for feedback. As this is a beta release, we're eager for your feedback to help refine the feature before its release.

Our goal is to help you gather more Google reviews and more customer feedback than ever before. 

We are confident that rewarding customers for sharing their experiences will boost their engagement with your feedback invitations. So, on that note, we're excited to introduce Better Rewards, our latest feature, which is available in beta for testing. 

Better Rewards is designed to motivate customers to provide feedback by providing them with an opportunity to win a $500 gift card.

By participating in the beta program, your SMS and email invitations to customers will be updated to include this exciting offer. When customers provide feedback, they automatically enter the draw.

The even better news is that betterbunch will cover the cost of this reward, so it comes at no expense to your business. Every quarter, our team will randomly select one winner. If the lucky winner happens to be your customer, we will arrange the prize and allow you to share the wonderful news with them.

We believe that Better Rewards has the potential to significantly boost interaction rates, improve your online presence, and help you gain a deeper insight into customer sentiment.

This is just a reminder that joining our Better Rewards program is free. We simply ask that you share your feedback with us to help us improve the feature before its official release. 

Updated invitations 

Once enrolled, we will modify your standard SMS and email invitations to match the example messages below.  Going forward, all new invitations will use this messaging to inform customers about the opportunity to win $500 when they share their feedback.

Customers enter the draw simply by indicating whether they are happy or unhappy with their experience —they do not need to type out a detailed message to qualify. 

Below is an example of the SMS and email invites your customers will receive (using your business name, of course), and here's an example of what your customers would experience when they interact with your Better Rewards invitation.

Drawing the winners 

If your customer is the lucky winner of the $500 gift card, betterbunch will contact your business so you can share the great news with them. We respect your relationship with your customers and will not reach out to them directly on your behalf, ensuring that you can maintain a personal connection with your clients.

The reward of $500 is provided by betterbunch and is drawn once per quarter across all entries, not just those from your business.

Measuring results

Our theory is simple: customers are more likely to provide feedback when they have a chance to be rewarded. 

At betterbunch, we prioritize data-driven decision-making, which is why we have introduced the Better Rewards feature in beta testing.  As part of the beta program, we will compare the interaction rates of your standard messages with the interaction rates of the incentive-based templates to understand Better Rewards' impact on customer engagement.

We may make small improvements and adjustments throughout the beta testing process, which will be reported here

Our goal is to optimise the feature based on user input, ensuring that Better Rewards performs at its best before making it available to all users.

Refining to the Better Rewards feature 

As this is a beta program, we expect to make small changes to the invitation messaging and the text your customers will experience in the Better Rewards flow.

We will keep you up-to-date with the changes by publishing them here

Once we have proven our Better Rewards theory, we will release Better Rewards to all betterbunch subscribers. We expect this process to be complete by October 2024. 

Ongoing participation

As this is a trial, the information gathered will help shape the feature to drive success. Therefore, we ask that the business remain on trial for the duration so we can gather as much feedback as possible.

If you decide to withdraw from the beta program, please notify us before reverting your message templates to their original format. This will help us maintain accurate data and provide meaningful insights into the effectiveness of the Better Rewards feature.

Q: What is Beta? 

A: The term "Beta" is commonly used in the technology world to describe a testing phase in the product development process. During this stage, a new feature is introduced to a select group of users to uncover potential improvements and challenges that may not have been spotted in earlier testing and design phases.

betterbunch is data-driven, which is why we have launched this new feature in beta. We are confident in the potential of Better Rewards, but by releasing it in beta, we aim to build, measure, learn, and enhance it based on real user feedback and data. This process allows us to optimise the feature. Then, once we are confident that the beta rewards feature is performing at its best, it will be made available to all users.

Q: How often is the prize drawn? 

A: Our team will draw a random prize winner each quarter on the first week of the new quarter. If your customer is the lucky winner, betterbunch will notify you via email and ask that you contact the customer with the happy news. 

Quarter 1: January 1st to March 31st
Quarter 2: April 1st to June 30th
Quarter 3: July 1st to September 30th 
Quarter 4: October 1st to December 31st

Q: Can I offer a prize for leaving a Google review instead of feedback?  

A: Google has a strict Prohibited and restricted content policy that outlines that a business can not offer an incentive or prize in exchange for a Google review.

Better Rewards offers the chance to win in exchange for sharing feedback and not specifically for Google reviews. It is made clear that customers enter the draw simply by indicating whether they are happy or unhappy with their experience—they do not need to type out a detailed message or Google review to qualify for the draw. 

It’s important to clarify that this is not a breach of Google’s terms of service. The distinction is crucial because it ensures that our program complies with all relevant guidelines and maintains the integrity of customer feedback.

Q: Will I incur any costs as a result of the Better Rewards program? 

A: No. The best part is that betterbunch will provide the reward at no cost to your business. 

Recent updates to the Better Rewards feature

As this is a beta program, we are constantly measuring results and making small changes to enhance the Better Rewards feature before its official release. Below is a list of recent tweaks and improvements. 

  • 26/08/2024: The Terms and Conditions Link has been adjusted. Previously, when opening the link on a mobile device, it was below the page fold. It is now visible above the fold.
