What is Promoter Retargeting? 

When a customer clicks the thumbs-up on your betterbunch invitation, they’re marked as a promoter—someone who had a positive experience with your service.

But sometimes life gets in the way, and they don’t complete the final step of leaving a review.

That’s where Promoter Retargeting comes in.

If the promoter doesn’t leave a review within 24 hours, betterbunch will automatically send a follow-up email nudging them to finish the job and share their positive experience online.

It’s a simple way to boost your conversion rate and grow your reputation without lifting a finger.

What does the Promoter Retargeting email say?

Hey Customer Name,
It's Sender Name, from Business Name.
Thanks for the thumbs-up yesterday! We're glad you're happy. However, I noticed you didn't get a chance to leave a review, so I wanted to check in to see what we could do better next time to provide a review-worthy experience.
Your satisfaction is our top priority, so if you can think of anything we can do to improve, please let us know by clicking here.
Alternatively, if you were too busy to leave us a review, you can always leave one by clicking here. It would mean a lot.

Why use it?

You’ve already done the hard work by delivering great service and earning a thumbs-up. Promoter Retargeting helps seal the deal by giving customers a gentle reminder at a more convenient time.

How to turn Promoter Retargeting ON and OFF

You can choose to turn promoter retargeting ON or OFF for all future invitations by following these instructions:

  1. Login to your betterbunch account.

  2. On the bottom left of your screen, click the Settings page
  3. Click the Rules tab, which will display your invitation preferences.
  4. Turn the promoter retargeting toggle ON or OFF.
  5. Click Save.

Note: Promoter Retargeting are sent via email only.

To make use of this feature, make sure you include an email address when sending invites (whether you're using single sends, bulk uploads, or automated sends).

How Promotor Retargeting works with Shareables

If you're using Shareables—our ready-to-use posters, QR Codes, or digital links—to invite customers to share feedback, Promoter Retargeting still has your back. 

When Shareables are configured to incentivise customers for their feedback through the Better Rewards Program, the contact will be prompted to provide their name and email address to enter the draw for the chance to win a $500 voucher.

If a contact submits their information to enter the draw, showing they were happy with your service, but does not proceed to leave a review on your chosen review site, your Promotor Retargeting settings will come into play.

With Promotor Retargeting enabled in your settings, a Promotor Retargeting email will be automatically sent to the Shareable Invitee 24 hours after their original interaction. 

Frequently asked questions

Q: What if a customer doesn't interact with their invitation at all?

A: No worries! That’s where No Interaction Retargeting comes in.

Promoter Retargeting will only generate a follow up email if the customer indicates they were happy, but does not proceed to Google to share a review, whereas No interaction Retargeting will send a follow-up email if the customer does not interact with their original invite at all. 

Q: Does it cost anything to use?

A: Nope—No Promoter Retargeting is included in all betterbunch plans.

Q: Does Promoter Retargeting use invitation credits?

A: No. These follow-ups are email-only and won’t affect your invitation credit balance. Learn more about how your monthly invitation credits work here.   

Q: Can I customise the Promoter Retargeting message?

A: Not at this stage. The message content is fixed to keep things simple and consistent.

Q: When does the follow-up email send?

A: Exactly 24 hours after the customer indicated they were happy, as long as the customer hasn’t proceed to Google to share a review. 

Q: Can I send the Promoter Retargeting invitation via SMS instead?

A: No, the Promoter Retargeting follow-up is designed specifically for email only. If you’d prefer to retarget your customers via SMS instead, we recommend running a manual retargeting campaign. Learn how to create a manual retargeting campaign here.

Q: Can I change the time or template of the message?

A: The Promoter Retargeting message is fixed and can't be edited. If you’d like to tailor the timing or content of the message, we recommend sending a manual follow-up instead.
